John K. Rudolph, 73, of Ireland, Indiana, passed away at 4:30 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2015, at home.

John was born on September 17, 1941 in Ireland, IN to Lenas and Marian (Leinenbach) Rudolph.

John was a retired salesman and worked on his family farm. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland. He was an active member of the Ireland Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years and a member of the Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association for 49 years. He was also a member of the Indiana Army National Guard.

He was the founding member of the J.R.’s Outback Kitchen Men’s Club. He was an original member of the St. Patrick’ s Planning Committee in Ireland.

He enjoyed cooking, entertaining, fishing, and gardening.

He is survived by three daughters, Barb Sisk and her husband Fred of Elizabethtown, Ky., Audrey Kemker and her husband Ken, Ireland, and Elaine Stone and her husband Andrew, Thorton, Colo.; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mary Jane Eckert and her husband Dr. Ronald Eckert of Jasper; two brothers, Dr. Richard Rudolph and his wife Jan of Jasper and Dave Rudolph and his wife Angie of Ireland.

Preceding him in death was one infant sister, Phylis Rudolph.

Funeral services for John Rudolph will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland with burial to follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Ireland.

Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The IVFA District #18 will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ireland Volunteer Fire Department, St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Ireland Endowment Fund, or to a favorite charity.
