Logan K, Flint, 91, of Hanover, Indiana, died on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at 9:36 p.m. at the home of his granddaughter in Jasper, Indiana.

Logan entered this life on November 23, 1923 in Leedey, Oklahoma. He was the loving son of the late Cort and Kathryn Forrest Logan Flint.

He graduated high school in Leedey and was inducted into the United States Army on March 11, 1943 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma during World War II. He rose to the rank of Private First Class serving in the 124th Cavalry Regiment having fought in the battles of Central Burman and India. Logan was honorably discharged on November 13, 1945 at Fort Riley, Kansas receiving the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Battle Star India Burma and the Battle Star Central Burma.

On August 4, 1946 he was united in marriage to Betty Jean Dickason at the Switzerland Baptist Church in Vevay, Indiana. This happy union of fifty five years was blessed with a son, William Logan and a daughter, Kathy.

He was a 1949 graduate of Ouachita Baptist University with a degree in Business Administration, Education and Biology. Logan and Betty settled in the Jefferson County Community of Kent in 1959. Logan retired in 1986 after serving 28 years with Rexnord in Madison as the personnel director. He had served as president for the local chapter of the American Heart Association. He enjoyed raising Appaloosa Horses for many years and was a faithful member of the Kent Baptist Church.

Logan will be missed by his daughter in law, Heidi McNaney Flint of Palm City, Florida; his granddaughters, Logananne Olivia Goins McCullough and her husband, Rob of Jasper, Indiana, Katianne Elizabeth Goins Lewis and her husband, Neil of Madison, Indiana, Meagan and Madison Flint of Palm City, Florida; his great grandchildren, Kaelinn, Alex, Austin and Braxtyn; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by by his parents, Cort and Kathryn Forrest Logan Flint; his beloved wife of fifty five years, Betty Jean Dickason Flint, died November 24, 2001; his loving daughter, Kathy Flint Goins, died March 7, 2012; his loving son, William Logan “Bill” Flint, died Sept. 11, 2014; his brother, Cort Flint; his sister, Elizabeth Briggs; and his great grandson, Ashton Earl McCullough, died July 11, 2010.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 28, 2015, at 1:00 p.m., by Pastor Mark Lee at the Switzerland Baptist Church, 307 Main Cross Street in Vevay, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery 800 East Main Street in Vevay, Indiana

Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Switzerland Baptist Church, 307 Main Cross Street in Vevay, Indiana.

A final salute will be conducted on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Switzerland Baptist Church conducted by Jefferson Post 9, of the American Legion full military honors will follow at Vevay Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association or the Kent Baptist Church or the Switzerland Baptist Church. Cards are available at the funeral home and the church.
