Seven men were arrested Monday on warrants for a third large drug operation being conducted by the Dubois County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.

At least three additional arrests are expected in the most recent round of drug interdiction charges.

In addition to the sheriff’s department, the Spencer County Sheriff’s Department and Rockport Police Department also assisted in the arrests Monday.

Although a similar operation as 2014’s Operation Double Trouble and 2015’s Operation Big Brother, police did not conduct a sweeping raid to gather up all the individuals charged as in those operations.

According to the sheriff’s department, more information will be made available about the operation tomorrow through the Dubois County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. It is closed today due to it being Primary Election Day.

  1. Not to mention that I know at very least one of the men arrested in this round, I know for a fact is on drug court in another county and is clean. He has been. They arrested a man for a crime he committed a year ago after he has already chosen a higher path and has made the changes he was needed. But now he will do 4 years do two in prison for the revoke of drug court alone, not counting this new charge. That’s justice?

  2. To Becca – maybe he ought to change the “friends” he hangs out with if he’s chosen a higher path. To Richard and Rick – while no other “victim” this time, it’s a law in part because of the serious and tragic impact on all lives – the user AND others – through the actions of those being under the influence – car crashes, shootings, you name it – so it’s far from just the person him/herself. Laws are there for ALL citizens – make the right choices for the good of those all in a civilized, lawful society and you enjoy freedom.
