Daniel Bernard Buening, age 81, of Poseyville, Ind., passed away at 8:30 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2014 at Signature Health Care of Newburgh.
He was born February 28, 1932 in St. Henry, Indiana to Bernard and Rosaline (Halbleib) Buening.
Throughout his life he worked as a farmer, owner of Buening Farm Service, as a Weaver Popcorn contractor, realtor, and school bus driver. After his retirement, he continued in realty with Curran Miller Realtors, with Weaver Popcorn, as a school bus contractor for Southeast Dubois, and bus driver for North Posey.
He was a member of Zion Lippe United Church of Christ in Mt. Vernon and the Poseyville Kiwanis Club, enjoyed cooking and grilling, and was known for his sweet corn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Tom Buening.
Mr. Buening is survived by two daughters, Paula (Jack) Maxey of Huntingburg and Beth (Tom) Noppenberger of Fishers; three sons, Bernie (Becky) Buening of Huntingburg, John (Karla) Buening of Evansville and Joe (Christine) Buening of Huntingburg; daughter-in-law, Janice Buening of Huntingburg; two brothers, Jerome Buening and Pat Buening both of Huntingburg; one sister, Norma Childress of Dale; by fifteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services for Daniel Buening will be held at 2:00 p.m., EST, on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Henry Cemetery in St. Henry, Indiana. The Reverend Linda Nanninga will officiate at the services.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., EST, on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to: Zion Lippe United Church of Christ in Mt.
