Leitz closing production facility in Jasper

Leitz Cutting Tools moving production from Jasper, IN to Grand Rapids, MI.

Leitz Tooling Systems announced on Thursday they would be closing their production line in Jasper and moving it to Grand Rapids, MI.

The closure affects 19 employees of the Jasper location who will lose their jobs. Leitz stated in a press release they are working to assist those employees to transition to other employment.

The move comes as Leitz restructures there operations to improve their overall efficiency by centralizing all production at the Grand Rapids North American headquarters.  The company will continue to operate a service center in Jasper to serve its local customers.

Leitz stated in the press release they regret having to remove jobs from the Jasper area, and want to thank our employees for their years of service.

Leitz also stated they are working to assist those employees who will be displaced as they transition to other employment.
