Local organizations collecting items for Oklahoma Tornado victims

Oklahoma-Relief-1Huntingburg — OFS Brands, City of Huntingburg and Jasper Engines and Transmissions are collecting items at various locations throughout the county for victims of the recent tornado in Oklahoma.

Semi-trailers, one from OFS Brands and one from Jasper Engines and Transmissions, are being loaded with supplies to be driven to Oklahoma.

Items can be dropped off in Huntingburg on Wednesday, May 22 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, May 23 and Friday, May 24 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the OFS Brands trailer in the parking lot of Memorial Gym, located at 412 E. 5th Street.

Items can be dropped off in Jasper on Wednesday, May 22, Thursday, May 23, and Friday, May 24 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 25 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Jasper Engines and Transmissions trailer at Christian Church of Jasper, located at 1450 Energy Drive.

Items being accepted include: bottled water, Gatorade, wet wipes, individually wrapped snacks, hand sanitizer, work gloves, sunscreen, heavy duty trash bags, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner and deodorant.  Clothing will not be accepted.

All German American offices are registered collection sites with the American Red Cross to accept donations for the Oklahoma tornado relief efforts. You can drop off any cash or checks written to the American Red Cross at any of their offices in southern Indiana.
