Purdue TAP offering grant opportunity for local companies

Purdue Technical Assistant Program is looking for a Dubois County company to take part in a grant project through the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.

The project, called Economy, Energy and Environment, or E3, is an initiative to help manufacturers increase profits by implementing efficient production process, reducing waste, lowering costs, growing jobs and driving innovation. It provides companies with customized lean energy and pollution-prevention assessments, specific project-implementation recommendations and customized workforce training.

To be considered for an E3 assessment, an ideal manufacturing plant should meet these criteria (companies that do not meet one of these criteria will still be considered):

• Within Standard Industrial Codes (SIC) 20-39.
• Gross annual sales below $100 million.
• Fewer than 500 employees at the plant site.
• Annual energy bills more than $100,000 and less than $2.5 million.
