Robert J. Law, 87, Bloomington, Illinois, formerly of Huntingburg, Indiana, died at 4:04 a.m., Thursday, December 13, 2012 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, Illinois.
Mr. Law was born October 27, 1925 at Cleveland, OH, a son of Earl Hollis and Louise Bartelt Law. He married Carolyn Hilgeman on December 28, 1946 at Owensboro, KY. She died June 1, 2005.
Surviving is a son, Steven John (Amy) Law, Heyworth, IL, three grandchildren, Madisen, Colby and Jackson Law, four very special nieces and nephews, John Weber, Jim (Paula) Weber, Toni (Stan) Sollman and Kim (Lee) Lippert and several special grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, George and a sister Ruth Bittner.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II, serving with the 94th Infantry.
Bob received a bachelor in industrial engineering from the University of Evansville and earned his master of business administration from Indiana University, Bloomington campus. He was an industrial engineer, having worked for the Jasper Corporation, RCA and Sun Electric Co., prior to retirement.
Mr. Law was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ, Huntingburg, Ind., and was active in numerous civic and fraternal organizations over the years. He moved to Westminster Village in Bloomington in October 2008, making many friends and enjoyed life to the fullest.
A graveside inurnment service will be held at 2:00 p.m., (E.S.T.), on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Mayo Cemetery near Duff. The V.F.W. Post #2366 Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites. A meal will follow at Salem United Church of Christ where friends may meet with the family.
Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg has been entrusted with the local arrangements. There is no funeral or visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Salem United Church of Christ or to Westminster Village Foundation, Bloomington, Illinois.
