Ruth E. Jones, 78, Dubois

Ruth E. Jones, 78, Dubois, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at her residence.

She was born in Orange County on June 17, 1938, to Harold “Pete” and Alma (Terrell) Terry. She married Oscar L. Jones on March 14, 1974. He preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 2016.

Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and enjoyed helping on the farm, the outdoors and her family.

She is survived by her son, David (Delema) Moffatt of Mitchell; three daughters, Brenda (Brion) Allen of West Baden Springs, Debbie Underwood of Mount Pleasant, Tenn., and Patty (Jeff) Chatman of Dubois; a brother, Harold Dean Terry of Mitchell; her caregivers, Michelle Kidwell and Stacey Neukam; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Wininger, Betty Blanton and Shirley White.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at T.L. Pinnick Chapel in French Lick. Chaplain Cindy Lagle will officiate. Burial will be in Crystal Cemetery in Crystal.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel.
