(Updated) Two victims recovered from Patoka Lake
Update at 3:30 p.m. Monday: According to Joe Haywood with the DNR Law Enforcement, the investigators are still attempting to determine what caused the modified jonboat the four men were using in the bow-fishing tournament to sink.
Investigators did locate alcoholic beverages aboard the boat but have not determined if alcohol was a factor in the capsize of the craft. They are interviewing the King brothers today to potentially determine what may have caused the accident.

Conservation officers and divers have recovered the boat and are investigating the cause of its capsize and sinking.

Indiana Conservation Officers are reporting two victims from a capsized boat were recovered today from Patoka Lake Reservoir.
Matt Buroker (23) of Evansville and Ryan Dowdell (22) of Winslow were both found early Sunday evening. With the aid of side scan sonar, an underwater camera and divers. Both men were located within 24 hours of their disappearance.
Saturday Night March 30th 2013 a fisherman near Hoosier Hills Marina heard cries for help. Concerned citizens found two subjects in the water and learned that two men were still missing.
Searches were conducted until early in the morning on Sunday March 31st 2013 and continued at daylight.
The four men were participating in a bow fishing tournament when their boat began to take on water. The reason the boat took on water is unknown at this time and is still being investigated. The boat capsized in water that was around 45 degrees and 35 feet deep. Conservation Officers continue to work into Sunday evening trying to recover the boat from the bottom of the Lake.

Indiana Conservation officers are investigating a possible double drowning at Patoka Reservoir.
On Saturday March 30th 2013 at approximately 10:15 p.m. a fisherman at Hoosier Hills Marina heard cries for help and called 911. A concerned citizen took a boat to the location of the distressed calls and rescued two people from the water.
While transporting Laban King (24) and Jacob King (27) of Winslow to safety rescuers learned the boat they were in capsized. Two other persons in the boat, Matt Buroker (23) of Evansville and Ryan Dowdell (22) of Winslow were not located and are still missing.
Water temperatures remain near 45 degrees and the rescued victims complained of symptoms consistent with hypothermia. Occupants of the capsized boat were participating in a bow fishing tournament.
Bank searches were conducted until around 4:00 a.m. and continued early Sunday morning.
Conservation officers are using side scan sonar to attempt to locate the boat in water that is about 35 feet deep.
According to authorities, they have located something in the area the boat sank and plan on sending divers down to investigate once they have more solid evidence the object they located is the boat they are searching for.
Responding agencies included Indiana Conservation Officers, Dubois County Sheriffs’ Department, Dubois Volunteer Fire Department and Dubois County EMS.
Indiana Conservation Officers strongly recommend the use of life jackets while on or near the water. A wearable life jacket is required by law for every person in a boat on public waters.
