VU Jasper’s Kids’ College will feature a variety of sports camps this summer

The Dubois County Bombers Baseball team in conjunction with VUJC will conduct a 3-day baseball camp at historic League Stadium.

Campers will be grouped by their age and skill level. This developmental camp will include three days of instruction and supervision in all phases of baseball. Campers will practice the fundamentals of throwing, infield play, outfield play, base running, hitting and pitching. Campers will also participate daily in drills, contests, and games.

Camp will be lead by the coaching staff and players of the Dubois County Bombers.

Participants need to bring hat, appropriate shoes, baseball glove, bat with name, sunscreen and water.

Dates are Monday- Wednesday, June 18,19, 20 from 9:00 – noon, grades 1 – 8 at League Stadium in Huntingburg.

Cost is $70 and includes T-shirt.

Archery Camp is for boys and girls to learn basic instruction in the safe pursuit of Archery.

This evening camp is offered in cooperation with the 4-H Shooting Sports. All equipment will be provided.

Dates are: Monday – Thursday, June 25,26, 27, 28 from 6:30-8:30 pm, for those entering grades 4 – 8.

Class will be held at the Dubois Co. 4-H Fairgrounds, Commercial Building.

Cost is $65 and includes T-shirt.

Boys Basketball Camp is open to boys entering grades 2 – 8.

Camp is designed to stress fundamentals of the game including passing, dribbling and shooting. Contests and games will also be included.

Camp Leader is Vincennes University head coach Todd Franklin. Prior to coming to VU, Coach Franklin recorded more than 300 wins over 13 seasons at Southeastern Illinois College. He was also named the 2007-08 UPS/NABC National Coach of the Year.

Dates are: Monday – Wednesday, July 9, 10, 11, 9:30 – Noon, grades 2-8 at the VUJC Ruxer Student Center gym.

Cost is $75 and includes T-shirt & basketball.

Girls Basketball Camp is open to girls entering grades 2 – 8.

Camp is designed to stress fundamentals of the game including passing, dribbling and shooting. Contests and games will also be included.

Camp Leader is Harry Meeks who is entering his 21st season at VU. With over 400 victories, Coach Meeks is the most successful coach in VU Women’s basketball.

Dates are: Monday – Wednesday, July 16, 17, 18 from 9:00 – 11:30 am, grades 2-8 at the VUJC Ruxer Student Center gym.

Cost is $75 and includes T-shirt & basketball.

Volleyball Camp is open to girls entering grades 3 – 8.

The camp will stress fundamentals of the game including passing, setting, serving and attacking. Strategies and rules of the game will be incorporated.

Camp Leader is Brittany Harry head volleyball coach at Vincennes University. Harry came to the VU program after assembling an early coaching resume’ that includes two years as head coach at Spartanburg Methodist College (Spartanburg, S.C.), two years as an assistant at her alma mater the University of South Carolina Upstate and eight years coaching for Club South Volleyball.

Two sessions available: Monday – Wednesday, July 23, 24, 25

  • Session 1: 9:00am – Noon, for girls entering grades K-5
  • Session 2: 1:00 – 4:00 pm for girls entering grades 6-8 Cost is $65 and includes a T-shirt.
