He was a 1999 graduate of Heritage Hills High School and had worked in industrial maintenance.

A loving father, Aaron doted on his kids and loved to include them in his hobbies and interests. An incredibly smart and mechanically-minded individual, Aaron loved to volunteer his time, mechanical skills, and handyman abilities to help people with home improvements, vehicle maintenance, equipment repairs, and many other projects.

He was very loving in nature, known by his cousins and friends to give the best hugs.

Aaron was fun to be around, inheriting his quick wit from his Gelarden family. He loved to be outdoors, fishing, hunting and playing golf.

He is survived by his children, Maris Boeckman-Waninger and Caleb Boeckman-Waninger, both of Santa Claus; his parents, Larry and Mary Jo (Gelarden) Waninger, St Meinrad; brother, Kyle Waninger (Kim), Evansville; and a sister, Abby Elpers (Greg), Evansville.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Merl and Irene (Hagedorn) Gelarden and Carl and Pat (Judge) Waninger.

A Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at St. Meinrad Catholic Church. Rev. Anthony Vinson will officiate. Burial will follow in St. John Chrysostom Cemetery in New Boston.
