Active Shooter training at Jasper Train Depot

The Jasper Chamber is hosting an active shooter training program Monday, January 29 at the Jasper Train Depot from 9 a.m to 4:30 p.m.

This is hands-on training and can be very intense at times. This does not take place of what local law enforcement will do for the business to help prevent the active shooter situation, but this is a course on what to do if a shooter situation develops.

This is not the same presentation you would receive from the local police departments. Law enforcement agencies and any business are encouraged to send officers to this day-long training program put on by Mark Wilson.

Wilson is a master sergeant in the United States Air Force, specializing in special tactics the last 15 years as an IDMT, working alongside Para-Rescue and Combat Controllers. The last nine years, he has trained law enforcement personnel in tactical trauma care. Mark is a 7th Degree Black Belt Master Instructor with over 35 years training in Tae Kwon Do. He is also a military instructor in Krav Maga for the last seven years.

The Jasper School of Tae Kwon Do will cover the lunch cost for the participants and the Jasper Chamber will provide snacks in the morning. Both of these organizations are co-sponsoring this training session.

Payments should be made to Edge Medical Training and Tactics, LLC – payable on January 29th. Cost of class is $100 per person. Credit cards and checks will be accepted the day of the seminar.

RSVP no later than January 24 at the Jasper Chamber, 812-482-6866 or by email at chamber@jasperin.org.
