Andrew R. “Andy” Hagemeyer, 87
Andrew R. “Andy” Hagemeyer, age 87, of Huntingburg, formerly a resident of Stendal, Indiana, passed away at 3:00 a.m., Wednesday morning, June 13, 2012 at his residence.
He was born February 26, 1925 in Stendal, Indiana to Phillip Hag

emeyer, Sr. and Esther (Katter) Hagemeyer. He was united in marriage to Norma Jean McClure on June 18, 1949 in Holland. Mr. Hagemeyer was a retired carpenter and stone mason. He was a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Stendal and the V.F.W. Post #2366 in Huntingburg.
He served as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps from Nov. 25, 1943 thru July 31, 1946 during World War II. Andy participated in action against the enemy at Iwo Jima from Feb. 19th thru March 27th, 1945 and participated in the occupation of Japan from Dec. 1, 1945 thru June 21, 1946.
He was preceded in death by: one daughter, Cynthia Tolka; three brothers – Harold Hagemeyer, Rex Hagemeyer and Phillip Hagemeyer Jr.; and two sisters – Opal Buse and June Hildebrand.
He is survived by:

One son and one daughter-in-law,

- Melinda “Jodi” (Terry) Kamman – Huntingburg, IN
- Andrea (David) Loehr – Holland, IN
- Rhonda Hagemeyer – Columbus, OH
by (7) grandchildren and (3) great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Andrew R. Hagemeyer will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Stendal with burial to follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Stendal. Pastor Ed Wicks will officiate the services. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., Friday; and also at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday morning, prior to the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Peter’s Church Stained Glass Window Fund.
