Annual Juried Art Show seeking submissions
Deadline for submissions for the 26th Annual Juried Art Show at the Krempp Gallery is June 28, 2019.
The Krempp Gallery encourages artists to submit applications for the 26th Annual Juried Art Show, September 2019. Only artists who are current or former residents of Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan or Ohio can apply.
Applications are now available on our website at, www.jasperarts.org and can be found on our Facebook page. To apply, send completed application and images by USPS or email to visualarts@jasperindiana.com. The application must be postmarked by June 28, 2019.
Edward Trover is a visual artist living and working in Terre Haute. He is currently the Curator of Collections & Exhibitions at the Sheldon Swope Art Museum and the Director of the Terre Haute Museum of Modern Art.
Trover’s interdisciplinary practice includes printmaking, painting, sculpture, writing, video, photography, and multiple other forms of media.
He received his MFA in Visual Studies from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2013, and his BFA in Sculpture and Printmaking from Indiana State University in 2010. His work has been screened and exhibited in the US and abroad including shows at Disjecta in Portland, OR; Printed Matter in New York; the Experimental Film Festival in Portland, OR; and at Videoholica in Varna, Bulgaria.
As a part of the collective Danger Punch, Trover’s first book Things We Should Have Said was published in 2013 by Publication Studio in Portland, OR. He has also had work published in Untitled Magazine, Submit, The Hand Magazine, and #RealLife on consequenceofsound.net.
$2,000 in prize monies will be awarded in the categories of BEST OF SHOW, AWARD OF EXCELLENCE, HIGH HONOR AWARD, and five HONORABLE MENTIONS.
The Krempp Gallery, located in the Jasper Arts Center, adjacent to the VUJ campus, is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., until 7 p.m. on Thursdays, and Sunday from noon to 3:00 p.m. School groups, clubs, and students are welcome. Admission is free.
