Anthony Habig, 88

Anthony Habig, age 88 of Jasper, passed away at 8:50 p.m. on Friday (February 15, 2013) at home.
Anthony was born on February 5, 1925 in Jasper, IN to Frank and Rose(Rottet) Habig. He married Audrey Dineen on December 15, 1955 in Pasadena, California.
Anthony was on the Board of Directors for Kimball International, from which he retired after many years.
He graduated from the Jasper High School Class 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He was one of the founders of the Dubois County Community Foundation, and served on its Board of Directors. He served on the board for the Greater Jasper School Corporation. He was the founder of the Beethoven Foundation, which is now know as the American Pianist Association in Indianapolis IN. He was bestowed the honor of Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Evan Bayh.
He enjoyed playing golf and horse racing. He was an avid IU Basketball and Football fan.

Preceding him in death are eight brothers – Arnold, Clarence, Frances, James, Jerome, Joseph, Lewis and Robert Habig, and one sister – Rosemary Habig.
Funeral services for Anthony Habig will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday (February 20, 2013) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday (February 19, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
