Bernard “Bernie” Nixon, 63, Brownsburg
Bernard “Bernie” Nixon, 63, Brownsburg, formerly of Jasper, passed away on February 18, 2021.

He was born July 11, 1957, to Thomas and Leona Hentrup Nixon and graduated from Jasper High School in 1976, and received his associate’s degree from Ivy Tech Evansville.
He married Brenda McNallin on Nov. 27, 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Nixon; sons, Jeremy Nixon (Chelsey) and Joshua Nixon; daughter, Michelle Artmeier (Chris Snodderley); grandsons, Chase, Cole, and Caden; sisters, Mary Huber (Bill), Bernadette Hopf (Richard), and Kathy Terwiske (Mike); brother, Ronald Nixon (Rose); many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tom Nixon; a nephew, Jarod Hopf; furbaby, Yorkie Angel, and his farm dog, Misty.
He loved watching IU basketball and football, fishing, and watching his grandsons play sports. He loved playing with his new furbaby Yorkie Pipin.
He worked as a millwright for IUPUI Indianapolis the last six years. Before that time he worked in maintenance at Memorial Hospital in Jasper for more than 15 years and for Krodel Wholesale in Jasper as vending machine supervisor for over 20 years.
He was a past member of Holy Family Church where he was an usher and reader for several years. He was also a member of the Dubois County Sportsman Club and the VFW of Holland, Ohio which his father started.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2021, at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 12:30 p.m.
In compliance with current regulations and restrictions, guests are required to wear masks and observe social distancing.
