Betty Lee (Garrison) Ison, 86, of Otwell, passed away peacefully at 10:53 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2020, at the home of her daughter, Janna, surrounded by her family.
She was born June 16, 1933, in Otwell to the late Clell and Pearl Garrison. She graduated from Otwell High School in 1951. She married George David Ison on February 17, 1960. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2013.
She is survived by her daughter, Janna (Terry) Motsenbocker of Greenwood; son, Mike Ison of Greenwood; grandsons, Jordan (Misti) Ison and Alex Motsenbocker; granddaughter, Breanna Motsenbocker; great-grandson, Aiden Ison; step-great-granddaughters, Taelor and Tarynn Reeves; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Matteson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Orval (Dobbie) Garrison.
Betty attended Church of God in Petersburg.
She and her husband owned and operated Ison Farms and Ison Farm produce stand in Otwell. They owned and operated pizza restaurants in Jasper and Petersburg for many years. In her early career, she worked at RCA in Bloomington.
She thoroughly enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends. She always filled the house with good food, music and the sounds of her playing the piano. Her favorite past times were playing cards, traveling and dining out.
Visitation will be at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg on Thursday, January 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. with the funeral on Friday, January 10, at 11 a.m. with burial in Walnut Hills Cemetery.
