Brew opens Labor Day

Barry, Josh and crew sampled plates that will be offered at Brew when it opens next Monday, Sept. 5, at 7 a.m. The full menu features breakfast, lunch and pub fare like bangors and mash and fish and chips as well as signature items like the Praise Cheese-Us and the Chicken Cordon Brew. Josh and Barry said the menu will change seasonally as they attempt to use locally sourced ingredients. The battered dog is amazing btw.

Canned wine. Surprisingly good according to Barry (but just about everything will be great). One can equals two 6 oz glasses of wine.

Barry Dunlop and Josh Premuda were inspired to create Jasper’s new all-day cafe for selfish reasons. It’s the place they needed in their chosen hometown. A place they want to hang out in. A place where they imagine their children will hang out. A place they think others will want to hang out at. A place to brew coffee, beer, plates of great food, friendships, ideas, passion and love.

Brew, 408 Main Street, Jasper, opens Monday at 7 a.m.

Hours: Sundays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (brunch all day); Mondays, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Tuesdays through Thursdays 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. (brunch until 3 p.m.)

They can be found online at all the social media places (Facebook and Instagram) and can be contacted at 812-556-0017

Josh, who opened Smalley Coffee on Jasper’s northside about three years ago, is bringing some great coffee drinks to Brew.

Brew will have a revolving selection of beer on tap and a tremendous selection in cans and bottles. The bar will feature cocktails and even whiskey flights (an American Flight, International Flight and more).

Barry almost never misses an opportunity to wear some Brew gear. Here the pair finalized the wine selection.

These baseballs have famous signatures on them. Authenticity is up in the air but they make for good decor.

DuBois Brewery of Pittsburg is no longer around but it has an interesting history including a long legal battle with Anheuser-Busch Brewery over the use of the name Budwiser for one of its beers.

This bike hanging on the wall has an IU sticker from 1974. The bike is also interesting since it is based on a design created by George Barris, the creator of the original Batmobile. Resident antique picker, Trent Summer Jr., found the bike.

Josh tests out the zip line that passes orders back to the kitchen.
Trent Summers Jr. also hooked Brew up with a '77 Honda CB750 cafe' cruiser. Painted up with Brew's logo, the motorcycle's gas tank doubles as a collection jar for local charities. September's charity is the Dubois County Humane Society.
