Since forming in 2012, D.C. Multisport has raised $118,536.11 for local organizations through the variety of sporting events it has hosted.

What began in 2012 with the first Heartland Half Marathon has grown to several different events held around the county that anyone can take part in. The events have grown in participation annually, bringing in participants from around the Midwest to Dubois County.

Whether it is the 500 people that showed up for the Cabin Fever Hike through Ferdinand Forest, the 60 youths taking part in the Huntingburg Youth Triathlon or the 100s bringing a bike to the Strassenfest Bicycle Ride, the participants in these events have assisted in supporting the community through the entry fees.

“We are very proud of the contributions D.C. Multisport has been able to make to local organizations,” said Kevin Manley, treasurer for the group. “This can only be achieved through the generosity of our sponsors and volunteers.”

In addition to supporting these local organizations, D.C. Multisport contributed $3,362.85 toward an endowment set up with the Dubois County Community Foundation to continue to support these events.
