Dan S. Kieffner, 54, Jasper, passed away at 2:43 p.m. CDT on Sunday, July 24, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville after a 14-year battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma leukemia.

Dan was born in Jasper on January 11, 1962, to Richard and Marjorie (Trimble) Kieffner and raised by Richard and Carol (Prechtel) Kieffner. He married Gloria Osgatharp in Terre Haute on June 23, 1984.

He attended Rose-Hulman University, where he received his bachelor and master degrees in electrical engineering and later received his doctorate in Business Administration from North Central University. He worked for 32 years at Crane Naval Base. He was a member of Redemption Christian Church in Jasper where he served as an elder and was very active with the youth ministry.  He loved life and enjoyed reading, traveling, fishing, working in his garden, and working toward his goal of attending a game in every major league baseball stadium.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Kieffner of Jasper; two sons, Gregory Kieffner and fiancé Heather Ferguson of Jasper and Andrew Kieffner and wife Jade of Jasper; two sisters, Diana Hurt and husband Scott of Evansville and Katrina Buse and husband Scott of Jasper; one brother, Gary Kieffner of Texas; two half-sisters, Anne Keneipp of Virginia and Julie Throop of Birdseye; one half-brother, Charlie Bowman of Georgia; honorary grandchildren, Hayden, Carrigan, and Harrison Heathco; nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Funeral services for Dan S. Kieffner will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Redemption Christian Church of Jasper with burial to follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Haysville.

Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Redemption Christian Church in Jasper, Indiana, and from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Thursday.
