Diana Arvin Morse, 67, formerly Jasper

Diana Arvin Morse, 67, formerly of the Jasper area, went to her Heavenly Father on March 1, 2023, after a prolonged battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

She had moved to Indianapolis from Crawfordsville, Ind., in 2021 and also wintered in Florida. Her family were members of the Episcopal Church.

She was born on June 11, 1955, in Washington, Ind., to L. Ajax and Leah (Baker) Arvin.

She attended Indiana University, receiving degrees in medical records administration (1973) and dental hygiene (1991). She had worked at Memorial Hospital in Jasper and St Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, Ind., before becoming the office manager and dental hygienist with her husband, James E. Morse, DDS.

She was both a dedicated and loving wife as well as mother to her daughters. To her daughter’s friends, she drove “Mom’s Taxi” and was a friend to them. To some, she was their “second Mom.” She enjoyed flowers and gardening, decorating the house for Christmas and various holidays, feeding the numerous Hummingbirds that frequented her patio, and the many pets the family had. She enjoyed being involved with her daughters’ educations and extracurricular events, and she also joined her daughters in the dance studio and won trophies in dance competitions for ballet. Diana tried to make others around her always feel a bit more appreciated and special.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents, L. Ajax Arvin and Leah (Baker) Arvin, and sister, Kathleen (Arvin) Egolf.

She is survived by her husband, James E. Morse, DDS and two daughters, Andrea (Morse) Broyles and Christina (Morse) Flynn, and three grandchildren, Elliot, Grant, and Samantha.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Indianapolis for the family.

The family requests any remembrances and donations be made to the CurePSP national charity (www.psp.org).
