Doris J. Heowener, 69

Doris J. Heowener, age 69, of Huntingburg, passed away at 8:48 p.m., Monday, July 30, 2012 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.

She was born January 28, 1943 in Huntingburg, Indiana to Edward and Geneva (Bruce) Painter. She was united in marriage to Herschel W. Heowener on June 29, 1963 at Trinity Church in Jasper.

Doris was a retired real estate agent. She enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Herschel, who died November 2, 1999, and one sister, Shirley Blessinger.

She is survived by:

Three daughters and one son-in-law,

• Jennifer Heowener – Jasper, IN
• Angelia Heowener – Huntingburg, IN
• Cecelia (spouse: James) West – Jasper, IN

One son, Frank Heowener – Nashville, TN

by (1) grandchild and (1) step grandchild.

Funeral services for Doris J. Heowener will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Mayo Cemetery near Duff. The Rev. Leah Pinnick will officiate the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday.
