Dubois County Hippology teams place in top 10

Please see the attached document for the Dubois County Hippology Teams and individual placing in the Top 10 at State Hippology Contest on March 19, 2016. I would greatly appreciate if you would run this to recognize local 4-Hers placing so well in a competition. Attached is a picture of the entire Hippology Team. Dubois County Hippology teams and individuals placed in the top 10 at State Hippology contest held at Purdue University on March 19, 2016.

The Hippology team is composed of any 4-H member that may or may not live on a farm or own a horse. The team learns and apply their knowledge of horses by identifying parts and type characteristics.

During a contest members of the team take a written exam, answer questions at stations, answer a question from a slide and judge a class of horses from a video.

In the Novice level (Grade 3-4), Dubois County Team consisting of Paige Troxal, Addyson Kane and Mary Seybold placed 6th.

In the Junior level (Grade 5-6), Dubois County Team consisting of Jaelyn Cooper, Dylan Weyer and Brenna Brosmer placed 6th also.

In the Intermediate level (Grade 7-8), Dubois County Team consisting of Josilynn Bateman, Zachary Troxal, and Tanner Kane placed 8th.

In the Senior Level (Grade 9-12), Dubois County Team consisting of Clarissa Weyer, Nicole Epple and Leah Schnell placed 6th.

Dubois County also had one individual place in the top ten in the Novice Division at State Hippology Contest. 8th – Paige Troxal

  1. Hippology??? What is this? Never heard of it, but sounds like something to do with hippos – the African jungle-river variety, etc. Or maybe things to be “hip” about, such as 4H animals, animal husbandry, as in savvy about, etc. If so, I’m hip.
