Morning crash results in minor injuries, totaled Tahoe

A Jasper woman suffered minor injuries Wednesday morning when an Indianapolis-area man ran a stop sign on 7th St. and struck a passing SUV pushing it onto its side.

According to police, Timothy C. Lowe, 55, of Carmel, was eastbound on 7th St. in a 2012 Ford Edge when he ran the stop sign at the intersection with Mill St at about 8:45 a.m. Lowe’s Ford crashed into the driver’s side of a passing 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Anita D. Ackerman, 51, of Jasper. Lowe told police he did not see the stop sign at the intersection.

Ackerman’s Tahoe spun around and came to rest on its passenger side on Mill St. just north of the intersection. Once crews removed Ackerman from the Tahoe, she was taken to Memorial Hospital for complaints of head and neck pain.

Lowe told police he did not see the stop sign at the intersection. He was cited for disregarding the stop sign.

Lowe’s Ford had about $15,000 in damages and the Tahoe was considered a total loss according to police.

  1. A 5-year-old Ford Edge with $15,000 damage is not considered a total loss?? Hmm.
