Esther Heern, 93, Lafayette

Esther Heern, 93, of Lafayette, died Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Creasy Springs in Lafayette.

Esther was born in Calhoun, Ill., on May 16, 1930, to the late Elmer and Tressie Robinson.

Esther married Rodney Heern on May 30, 1969. He preceded her in death on May of 2021.   

Esther was a homemaker and worked as an administrative assistant for a truck repair company for many years. She enjoyed old country music, especially Johnny Cash and Elvis, planting flowers, quilting, sewing and was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Jasper.

She is survived by her children, Priscilla (Dave) Discher of Blufton, S.C., Gary (Lisa) Milone of Gulfbreeze, Fla., Julie (Mark) Steimel of Hawesville, Ky., Terry (Carla) Heern of Salem, Ill., Mark (Linda) Heern of Centralia, Ill.,  and Dana (Leanne) Heern of Lafayette. 

She also had numerous grand and great-grandchildren.  

A Celebration of Esther’s life will take place 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on  August 5, 2023, at The First Baptist Church in Jasper.
