Everett Louis Eilert, 87

Everett Louis Eilert, 87, of Velpen, passed away at 7:48 a.m., Saturday, October 3, 2015, at the Golden Living Center in Petersburg, Indiana.

He was born November 20, 1927 in Pike County to Louis and Ollie (Schuller) Eilert.

Everett was employed by the Norfolk Southern Railroad. He enjoyed working on various projects around the house and tinkering with anything that needed fixing.

Everett was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl V. (DeWeese) Eilert, who died March 30, 2010; two daughters who died in infancy, Dorothy Eilert and Janice Sue Eilert; and two sisters, Suzie McCain and Margaret Pancake.

Everett is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jimmie (Beverly) Eilert of Velpen and Jerry Eilert of Winslow; five grandchildren.

Funeral services for Everett Eilert will be held at 10:00 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Stilwell Cemetery in Pikeville. Pastor Denny Wiscaver will officiate at the funeral.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to any church of your choosing in memory of Everett.
