Fulda man killed in tractor accident

Santa Claus — A Ferdinand Fulda man lost his life Saturday evening in a single vehicle tractor accident northeast of Santa Claus.

Charles W. Kuntz, 60, was traveling west on County Road 1700N, about a mile east of State Road 162, on a John Deere 4020 tractor. According to police, the wheels of the tractor locked up for an unknown reason, pulling the tractor to the left and off of the south side of the roadway. As the tractor veered off the roadway, it overturned and rolled over Kuntz.

Kuntz was pronounced deceased.

Spencer County Dispatched was notified at 5:47 p.m. CST with officers arriving on scene at 5:51.

The Indiana State Police was contacted to investigate the fatal crash.

The Spencer County Sheriff’s Department, Saint Meinrad and Santa Claus Police Department, Santa Claus Fire, and Spencer County EMS assisted at the scene.

There was an error on Mr. Kuntz’ address when it was reported by police.
