Food inspection reports for January 2021

The following inspection reports are from inspections conducted in January by the Dubois County Health Department.

Inspection results are published after the restaurants and food stores have had 10 days to respond. Violations are corrected on the day of the inspection unless otherwise noted.

American Legion Post 124, Ferdinand — One critical violation: all ready-to-eat products (tomatoes, cheese) in both refrigerators need to have dates. One non-critical violation: Meat in freezer individually bagged up should have date and where it came from.

Arby’s #5392, Newton Street, Jasper — One non-critical violation: Observed food being stored on floor of walk-in freezer.

Brick Oven Pizza, E. Sixth Street, Huntingburg — No violations observed at time of inspection.

Burger King, Newton Street, Jasper — No violations observed at the time of inspection.

Sunoco #55, Newton Street, Jasper — One non-critical violation: Observed microwave oven to build-up of food debris.

Westside Dairy Queen and OJ, W. Sixth Street, Jasper — No violations observed at time of inspection.

Deb’s Truck Stop, Birdseye — One critical violation: observed dirt/food/debris build-up on freezer and refrigerator units (repeat violation). Three non-critical violations: observed food build-up in microwave oven; observed dirt/food/debris build-up throughout establishment (repeat violation); observed vents above grill and fryer to have build-up of grease and other debris.

Dollar General Store #2743, 3rd Avenue, Jasper — No violations observed at time of inspection.

Ferdinand Processing Plant, E. Fifth Street, Ferdinand — No violations observed at time of inspection.

Holiday Inn Express, Hospitality Drive, Jasper — No violations observed at time of inspection.

Los Bravos Mexican Restaurant, Newton Street, Jasper — Two non-critical violations: observed food being stored on floors of walk-in freezer and refrigerator (repeat violation); observed build-up of food debris in microwave oven.

Main’s Bakery, N. Washington Street, Huntingburg — One critical violation: observed buildup of food debris on doughnut holding racks. One non-critical violation: handwashing sink did not reach the required temperature of 100 degrees F.

Mama T’s Italian Steak House, Fourth Street, Huntingburg — No violations observed at time of inspection.

McDonald’s #5349 (Jasper southside), Jasper — No violations observed at time of inspection.

Mill House of Jasper, Inc., Mill Street, Jasper — No violations observed at time of inspection.

Monte’s Pizza, St. Rd. 56, Jasper — One critical violation: tubs in front fridge with cheese, bacon, etc. need dates if not used in 24 hours. One non-critical violation: fridges below pizza building station have a lot of build-up.

Mor-For-Less, Huntingburg — No violations observed at time of inspection.

Ron’s Place, N. Van Buren Street, Huntingburg — No violations observed at time of inspection.
