Huntingburg to present Downtown Revitalization Plan to public
Huntingburg — The City of Huntingburg is hosting a public hearing on its Downtown Revitalization Plan on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at Old Town Hall, located at 309 N. Geiger Street.
The plan, a result of the $40,000 planning grant awarded by the state’s Office of Community and Rural Affairs and a $5,000 match from the city, will be presented by Development Concepts, Inc. and Commonwealth Engineers, Inc.
“I want to encourage every Huntingburg resident to attend this presentation, as it is an excellent opportunity for people to see the plan and offer comments about the future of their downtown,” says Huntingburg Mayor Denny Spinner. “I have seen the first few drafts of the plan and it is quite impressive.”
The plan includes ideas for 3rd to 5th and Geiger to Van Buren Streets. Once it is finalized, the plan will be presented to the Common Council for consideration for adoption.
