Officials are investigating the death of an inmate at the Dubois County Security Center
Jail officers found Jerry O. Frick, 51, of Huntingburg, unresponsive Saturday at 3:36 a.m. while making rounds. Frick had been alone in his cell.
Officer immediately administered CPR and used an AED to attempt to resuscitate Frick while waiting for emergency medical services that had been contacted over dispatch.
Frick was transferred by ambulance to Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:09 a.m.
The Dubois County Coroners Office and Dubois County Sheriffs Department are continuing to conduct an investigation. The death is preliminarily thought to be suicide by hanging. No foul play is suspected.
Frick was being held in the Dubois County Security Center on a pending case from Dubois Circuit Court.
