Ireland resident facing several charges after police find meth

Deputies arrested an Ireland man after finding packages of methamphetamine and other prescription drugs during a search of a home detainee’s residence.
Police performed a search of Tiffany Flynn’s residence at 5029 W. State Road 56 at about 11 a.m. Monday with the assistance of community corrections officers. During the search, officers found a 12 gauge Benelli shotgun, a syringe, four baggies containing a powdery substance, and four different types of prescription pills without a prescription. According to police, all of the items belonged to Flynn’s fiancĂ©, Gerald C. Bates Jr., 33, of the same address.
Deputies charged Bates with a Level 3 felony count of possession of a firearm while dealing meth, a Level 5 felony count of possession of a firearm while possessing meth, a Level 6 felony count of maintaining a common nuisance, and five Class A misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance.
