Jasper police investigating string of thefts from vending machines

On Thursday morning several vending machines in Jasper were vandalized and broken into.

Jasper Detective Lisa Miller says the incidents had been more prevalent in the surrounding counties, but police were called to the 2900 block of Newton St. yesterday for the report.

Miller said the suspects are gaining access to the vending machines with lock cutters and other tools, but in some instances the suspects had a key.
