Jasper woman arrested for dealing K2

Jasper —  On Thursday, a Jasper woman was arrested for dealing the designer drug K2 from her residence on Main Street.

According to Deputy John Anderson, he received a complaint of someone possibly dealing the synthetic drug from the 1663 Main Street residence. Anderson determined that the resident, 19-year-old Megan Jones, was on home detention through community corrections.

Anderson was joined by a community corrections officer, a Jasper police officer and a Indiana State Police K-9 unit in searching Jones’ residence. During the search they found baggies and digital scales believed to be used for distributing the drug. Further investigation revealed an ounce (approximately 29 grams) of K2 hidden in a dresser in a baby’s bedroom.

Jones was arrested for the following charges:

  • Dealing in a synthetic cannabinoid (Class D felony)
  • Illegal possession of more than 2 grams of a synthetic cannabinoid (Class D felony)
  • Maintaining a common nuisance (Class D felony)
  • Possession of paraphernalia (Misdemeanor)

She was booked into the county security center at 12:01 p.m.

During the investigation officers also determined another individual in the home, 26-year-old Sean Teer, had an active warrant in Vanderburgh county for failure to appear. He was arrested and transferred to Vanderburgh County.
