John David Deel

John David Deel, 54, of French Lick, entered into eternal rest on December 4, 2017, at Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was born in Salem, Indiana on January 7th, 1963 to William John and Mary Jane (Hobson) Deel.

John married the love of his life, Billie Emmons on June 29th, 1984 and she survives.

He was preceded in death by his father.

John graduated from the Springs Valley High School with the Class of 1982. He was a member of Redemption Christian Church in Jasper and a Life Member of the Springs Valley Optimist Club. John loved spending time with his family and was very proud of them. He was known for his loving nature and big smile. His love of the outdoors was evident in all his hobbies – camping, boating, cutting wood and deer hunting.

He was a jack-of-all-trades and could fix nearly anything he put his mind to. John showed his abilities most recently in his work at Styline Logistics in Huntingburg where he helped to maintain their fleet of trucks.

John is survived by his mother Mary Jane Deel of French Lick; Wife Billie Deel of French Lick; two sons, Patrick Deel of French Lick and Brandon Deel of French Lick; two brothers, George Deel (Gem) of French Lick and Mike Deel of French Lick; father- and mother-in-law, Bill and Ruth Emmons of Hillham; sister-in-law, Tammy Cooke (Vince) of French Lick; several nieces, nephews and loving family and friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be conducted by Rev. Darrel Land at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at the Redemption Christian Church in Jasper. Burial will be at a later date in the Crystal Community Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
