Kenneth H. “Ken” Hulsman, 70, of Jasper, passed away at 12:02 a.m. CST on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
Ken was born in Huntingburg on August 23, 1947, to Cornelius L. and Gertrude R. (Klem) Hulsman. He married Susan K. Kalb on September 25, 1971, in St. Anthony Catholic Church.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, 1st Calvary Airmobile Division, who served in the Vietnam War 1967-1968 and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion Post #493, the VFW, and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 77.
Ken was a Quality Control Manager who worked in the furniture manufacturing industry. He enjoyed amateur radio, cooking, woodworking and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Ken is survived by his wife, Susan Hulsman of Jasper; three sons, Jason M. Hulsman (Andrea) of Jasper, John R. Hulsman (Nicole) of Bretzville and Justin C. Hulsman (Alana) of Jasper; eight grandchildren, Jackson Miller, Harrison and Lillian Hulsman, Anna, Grace, and Samuel Hulsman, Jackson Gamble, and Everett Hulsman; three sisters, Kathleen Laake (Dennis) of Carterville, Ill., Rita Long (Anthony) of Boonville and Theresa Fritz of Belleville, Ill.; one brother, Michael Hulsman of St. Anthony.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Thomas Hulsman.
Funeral services for Kenneth Hulsman will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow in Jasper Enlow Cemetery. The Jasper VFW Post #673 will conduct military graveside rites.
A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The Disabled American Veterans Post #77 will conduct a memorial service at 6 p.m.
