Lee Ray “Yogi” Jochem, 80

Lee Ray “Yogi” Jochem, 80 of St. Henry, passed away at his home in St. Henry on September 12, 2013.
He was born March 4, 1933 in St. Henry to Leo & Clara (Hohl) Jochem. He married Mary Alice Lindauer on August 7, 1954 in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, Ferdinand.
Lee Ray was a graduate of Holland High School. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a Mail Carrier at the Ferdinand Post Office for 36 years, and a former Ferdinand Police Chief for 17 years. He was a member and past commander at Ferdinand American Legion Post 124, as well as a member of St. Henry Parish and a member of Catholic Knights Of America.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Alice Jochem; three sons, Gerald Jochem and his wife Sandra of Gallop, NM, Alan Jochem and his wife Angie of Trafalgar, IN, and Greg Jochem and his wife Kim of St. Henry; two daughters, Diane Stipp and her husband Bob of Bedford, and Judy Nino Jochem and her husband Primitivo of Huntingburg. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, one brother, Jerome Jochem of Jasper, and two sisters, Dorothy Hollander and Rosie Stetter both of Huntingburg.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Jochem, one granddaughter, Abigail Nino, and a sister, Coletta Caine.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday in St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial with military graveside rites by Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8:00 PM Sunday & from 7 to 9:30 AM Monday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand.
