Lou Alice Buechler, 82

Lou Alice Buechler, age 82, of Jasper, passed away at 7:05 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2013, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Lou Alice was born on October 13, 1930 in Celestine IN to Frank and Bertha (Gehlhausen) Kluesner. She married Elmer A. Buechler on May 18, 1957 at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine, IN.

She was a homemaker and member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, and the Holy Family Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She was a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound and was active in the CRHP (Christ Renews His Parish) program at Holy Family.

She enjoyed baking and cooking, flowers, and spending time with friends, grandkids and great grandkids. She was a member of the neighborhood card club for over 50 years.

She is survived by her husband, Elmer A. Buechler, of Jasper, IN one daughter, Connie Buechler, of Jasper, IN; three sons, Steve Buechler, and his wife Margie, of Ireland, IN, Allen Buechler, and his wife Michele, of Indianapolis, IN, and Mark Buechler, and his wife Beth, of Aurora, IL; two sisters, Evelyn Merkel, of Celestine, IN, and Mary Heeke and her husband Leonard, of Celestine, IN; six grandchildren, Matt and Brian Buechler, Beth Flamion, Tyler and Garrett Buechler, and Jared Buechler; two great-grandchildren, Sarah and Maria Buechler.

Preceding her in death is one infant son, Kevin Buechler, and one sister, Ann Kempf.

Funeral services for Lou Alice Buechler will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2013, at Holy Family Catholic church, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2013, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church on Friday. The Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary will pray the rosary at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday.
