Margaret J. Rush-Very, 94

Margaret J. Rush-Very, 94, passed away Wednesday at her daughter’s home. She was the former Margaret Merkley, a native of Jasper.

She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for 64 years, where she was a member of the choir for 50 plus years and the resurrection choir for many years. Margaret was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella for over 60 years.

She was preceded in death by first husband of 40 years, Roy C. Rush; son, David Rush; daughter, Patty Hays; grandson, Darren Rush; brothers, Charles, Bob and Jim Merkley; sister, Louise Pfau; and second husband of 20 years, Lawson Very.

Margaret is survived by daughters, Margaret Schad, Geraldine Stewart and Helen Scott; sister, Mary Winkler; 10 grandchildren; and 7 greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, New Albany.

A funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, New Albany.
