Marie L. Hoffman, 96
Marie L. Hoffman, age 96 of Jasper passed away at 7: 10 a.m. Wednesday (March 20, 2013) in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.
She was born at Ireland, Indiana on November 27, 1916 to Jacob and Anna (Baker) Kieffner. She married Alfred G. Hoffman; He preceded her death may 21, 1967.
Marie was a homemaker and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township. And active member of the women’s organization.
She enjoyed working on the farm, Quilting and gardening.
Surviving are four sons,
- William R. Hoffman and spouse W. Jean, Jasper, IN
- Rev. Jacob H. Hoffman and spouse Helen, Lafayette, IN
- Daniel Hoffman, Jasper, IN
- Timothy Hoffman and spouse Kathy, Sterling, VA
One daughter,
- Helen Shearer and spouse Dr. Robert Shearer M.D., Madison, WI
Eleven grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death besides her husband and grandson Jeffrey Alan Hoffman were two sisters, Velma Krodel and Luetta Neukam and two brothers, Raymond and Herbert Kieffner.
Funeral services for Marie Hoffman will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday (March 22, 2013) in St. John’s Lutheran Church with burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Boone Township. The Rev. Catherine Burnette will officiate.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday (March 22, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel and one hour before services at church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or to a favorite charity.
