Martina (Tina) Berger, 81

Martina (Tina) Berger, 81, of Jasper, passed away at 2:55 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015, in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born on November 7, 1933 at Warriors Mark Pennsylvania to C. Stuart and Gertrude (Cox) Chroniser. She married Richard P. Berger on May 12, 1956, he preceded her in death on August 30, 1989.

Tina was a retired registered nurse, a graduate of Philipsburg Nursing College in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. She had a career in nursing at Memorial Hospital for 43 years. She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, St. Ann’s Society and the Daughters of Isabella. Grandmothers Club, Women of the Moose,, American Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Dubois County Museum.

She enjoyed travelling, crocheting and reading.

She is survived by three daughters, Christine Wathen and husband Gary of Nineveh, Ind., Jane Pittman and husband Mark of Indianapolis, and Susan Evans and husband John of Cleveland, Ohio; two sons, Tim Berger of Jasper and Phil Berger and wife Claire of Muncie; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband is one sister, Patricia Beyke.

Funeral services for Martina Berger will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015, in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Rosary will be held at 1:45 p.m. Monday by the D of I’s and the St. Ann’s Society.
