Mary A. Kleeman, 94, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 3:45 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Mary was born on May 30, 1920 in Cannelburg to Patrick and Julia (O’Conner) Kavanaugh. She married Karl “Shorty” Kleeman on July 12, 1941. He preceded her in death on November 2, 2000.

Mary retired from Jasper Wood Products, she had also worked for Swift Processing and the Loogootee Shirt Factory.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and their St. Ann’s Society. She was also a member of the Jasper Circle of the Daughters of Isabella.

She enjoyed traveling, latch hook, and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Bieker of Jasper and Nancy Hedinger and her husband, Joe, of Goose Creek , S.C.; three sons, Carl “Bud” Kleeman and his wife, May, of Jasper, Bob Kleeman and his wife, Suzanne, of Santa Claus, and Mike Kleemen and his wife, Jeanette, of Fairfield, Cali.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death beside her husband was one daughter who died in infancy, Karen Kleeman; three sons who died in infancy, Jimmy, Larry and Ricky Kleeman; one son-in-law, John Bieker, one sister, Margaret Grow; three brothers, James, Paul and Robert Kavanaugh; and two brothers Raymond and Timothy Kavanaugh, who died in infancy.

Funeral services for Mary A. Kleeman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday (December 22, 2014) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The St. Ann’s Society and Jasper D of I will pray a rosary at 2:45 p.m.
