Mary Ann Recker, 76, Jasper

Mary Ann Recker, 76, of Jasper, passed away at 11:25 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015, at home.

Mary was born on September 11, 1939 in Oxford, Florida, to Butler and Katie (Crenshaw) Lewis. Her first marriage was to Paul Frank Steltenpohl Sr. He preceded her in death on February 26, 1973. She then married Jay Recker on July 3, 1974 in Jasper.

Mary Ann was a homemaker and member of the Christian Church of Jasper.

She was an Elvis fan, and an avid St. Louis Cardinals and I.U. Basketball fan. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Jay Recker of Jasper; six daughters, Angela Denton of Jasper, Paula Breeding of Jasper, Patricia Hammond and her husband Warren of Warner Robins, Geo., Tina Slayton and her husband Todd of Jasper, Alice Woosley of Jasper and Lori Toby and her husband Stephen of Jasper; one son, Paul Frank Steltenpohl Jr. and his wife Cindy of Jasper; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorraine Osteen and her husband Carl of Pedro, Fla.; three brothers, Mack Lewis and his wife Janice of Ocala, Fla., Moe Lewis and his wife Gloria of Minden, La. and Joe Lewis of Ocala, Fla.

Preceding her in death are one sister and eight brothers.

Funeral services for Mary Ann Recker will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at the Christian Church of Jasper with burial to follow in Enlow Cemetery in Jasper. Pastor Darrel Land will officiate.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service time at the church on Tuesday.
