Memorial Hospital Ambulance Services Staff Members awarded at annual conference
Jasper – Two members of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center’s Ambulance Services department were recognized with awards given by the Indiana Emergency Medical Services Commission at the Indiana Emergency Response Conference on Friday, August 19, 2011.
The EMT-Intermediate of the Year Award was given to Tony Ferraro and the EMT-Basic of the Year Award was given to Zach Eichmiller because of their skill and professionalism in patient care. They were also recognized for their dedication, service, and leadership, as well as going above and beyond their normal day-to-day responsibilities.
Memorial Hospital’s Ambulance Services provides Advanced Life Support pre-hospital care county-wide on the level of Intermediate EMTs, which are required to hold ACLS and PALS certifications. The staff includes nine primary instructors, 14 Basic Life Support instructors, two Advanced Cardiac Life Support instructors, two Pediatric Advanced Life Support instructors, seven fire service instructors and three train-the-trainer American Heart Association instructors. Suzan Henke serves as the department director.
