A Very Merry Christmas at the Santa Claus Museum & Village

Fun, festive, and family-friendly events will be happening at the Santa Claus Museum & Village this holiday season. All events are free of charge.

Storyteller Susan Fowler will kick-off the Christmas season at the Santa Claus Museum & Village on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. CST. Fowler will spin her tale of how the town of Santa Claus received its name, and present Clement C. Moore’s classic poem, ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas, in an interactive and family-friendly event. Fowler will return on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. CST for another performance of this program.

On Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. CST Nashville singer-songwriter Danielle Lee will perform a selection of favorite Christmas carols. Lee’s Christmas concert will be held in the historic Santa Claus Church, which will be decked out for the holidays with live greens and seasonal decorations.

Mrs. Claus will make an appearance in the historic Santa Claus Church on Saturday, December 9, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CST. She’ll read a selection of her favorite Christmas stories, lead holiday craft activities, and help children write their letters to Santa Claus.

More Christmas music will fill the air on Saturday, December 16, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CST when singer/songwriter duo Mary Bomar and Bob Ritter stop by the Santa Claus Museum & Village. These veterans of the stage have been performing their brand of contemporary folk/pop music for over 25 years and will host an hour-long Christmas concert in the historic Santa Claus Church.

Visitors are encouraged to stop by the Original Santa Claus Post Office, located at the Santa Claus Museum & Village, and write their letters to Santa Claus throughout December. The site will be open seven days a week, from December 1 – December 22, 2017.  Elf Holly will be available on weekends to help children with their letters. Children wishing to mail their letters to Santa may send them to PO Box 1, Santa Claus, Indiana, 47579. All letters received by December 21, 2017, will be sent a response from Santa and the Elves.

The Santa Claus Museum & Village is a not for profit organization dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the history of Santa Claus, Indiana, and continues the tradition of Santa’s Elves, Inc. by answering letters to Santa.
