Mini Dubois County 4-H royalty pageant planned for this year’s fair

The Dubois County 4-H council is holding a Mini Dubois County 4-H royalty pageant this year.

The pageant will be held Sunday, July 9, 2018, at the Jasper High School Gymnasium. Children ages five through seven interested in participating must have applications in by June 1, 2017 with the $5 application fee. Applications will be made available March 30, 2017, online at www.extension.purdue.edu/dubois or in the Dubois County Extension Office.

An informational meeting is scheduled for June 4th at 6:30 p.m. at Clover Pavilion at the Dubois County Fairgrounds.

The theme for the pageant is “The Next 50 Years.” What do you want to be when you grow up?

    Forgive me, but what is a royalty pageant? Is it the same as the Jr or little Miss and Mr? I hope we’re not going PC and gender-neutral crazy like the Univ of Minnesota with eliminating King and Queen titles in deference to “royalty”. Please say it aint so.
