Muller True Value Hardware hosts night filled with inspiring creativity
Muller True Value Hardware hosted a fun LNO: Ladies’ Night Out event last Friday.
Their team of local experts lead several DIY Workshops throughout the evening, introduced the store’s new line of home accents and provided refreshments and desserts for their guests. When the ladies first came into the store, they participated in a scavenger hunt and enjoyed 20 percent off their entire purchases throughout the event.
At the beginning of 2017, Deanna Muller, owner of Muller True Value Hardware and her son, Cody Goeppner, decided to reach out to a new demographic of their community—ladies. Their desire was to become a “one-stop-shop” for all their DIY projects and home improvement needs.
“A hardware store can be more than the nuts and bolts, which, of course, is the foundation of our business. We plan on adding creativity to every inch of our store as we reimagine the use of hardwarian items and give our customers the opportunity to run with those ideas,” Cody said as he shared the vision for the future of their store.
Friday night, throughout the event, the ladies who attended were given several opportunities to run with those ideas. With multiple stations focused on DIY projects, the different departments of the store were intermingled to make some trendy accents for the home.
The Paint Department was mixed with the Lawn & Garden Department to make a chalkboard flower pot.
The Lumber Department was mixed with the Hardware.
Lawn & Garden and Paint Departments to create a chicken wire frame for displaying pictures in a creative way.
And they mixed all the departments together once again to build a flower box that was personalized by each guest by stenciling designs with their new line of Rustoleum Chalked Spray Paint.
“We honestly didn’t know what to expect. We planned and prepped with a lot of structure in place, but we also knew with this being the first event of this nature at our store that we had to be extremely flexible,” Deanna said. “We catered to several ladies who were DIY pros, but there were some who had never picked up a power drill before, so our team had to be ready for anything.”
Even though the new demographic seemed to include a variety of levels of expertise, the evening could be defined as a success. Ladies were leaving the event with their projects and gift bags in tow requesting for the next event to be as soon as possible. The team at Muller True Value Hardware assured them they would be presenting another one to attend sometime later this year.
“Our goal is to be more than ‘just a hardware store’ and I think we proved that as our team lead a successful outreach event,” Cody explained. “We are gearing up for big times at our store as we celebrate 45 years of partnering with True Value Company and 175 years of family business. Our mission is to enhance the lives of our community, so to see an event like this be received in such a positive manner is really exciting for our team.”
