Never too cold for a paddle

Ron Sergesketter can be found navigating the waters of Southern Indiana year round. Thursday he spent the afternoon circumnavigating the shoreline of Huntingburg Lake. Photos by Matt Crane.
Ron Sergesketter can commonly be found kayaking on the multitude of Southern Indiana waterways, lakes and reservoirs.
The 66-year-old Jasper resident retired in June. He has a quiver of eight boats he uses to explore the waterways locally and usually gets a paddle in daily.
He regularly can be found on Patoka River and Patoka Lake but hits Huntingburg Lake and Beaver Lake as well. He joined a group of six kayakers New Year’s Eve for a paddle around Huntingburg Lake; an annual tradition for Ron.
