Oath of Office in Jasper

Jasper Mayor Dean Vonderheide was joined by his daughter, Meghan Premuda, and granddaughters, Hazel and Chloe, as he was sworn in for his first full term Monday afternoon at Jasper City Hall. Chad Lueken’s daughters, Olivia, 2, Beatrice,4, and Landry, 7, and his wife, Yvonne, took part in his swearing-in ceremony Monday afternoon at Jasper City Hall. Lueken is the new councilman for Jasper’s Third District.
Gil Eckerle held a bible for his wife, Nancy Eckerle, as she gave her oath of office during the swearing-in ceremony held at Jasper City Hall Monday afternoon. Eckerle is serving her second term as a Jasper Council-At-Large representative.
Councilman Dave Hurst placed his hand on a bible held by his wife, Suzanne, during the swearing-in ceremony held at Jasper City Hall Monday afternoon. Hurst was re-elected as the represent Jasper’s Fourth District.
Councilman John Schroeder took his oath of office with his mother, Bernetta, by his side Monday at Jasper City Hall. Schroeder will continue representing Jasper’s Second District.
Paul Lorey was sworn in as Jasper’s District 5 representative with his wife, Tracy, by his side Monday afternoon at Jasper City Hall. Lorey will start his first term as representative of Jasper’s Fifth District.
Councilman Phil Mundy was sworn in as one of Jasper Council-at-Large representatives with his wife, Karen, by his side Monday at Jasper City Hall.
Newly elected Jasper Clerk/Treasurer Allen Seifert took his oath of office with his wife Deanne by his side. Newly elected officials and incumbent council members took their oaths of office Monday at Jasper City Hall.
Kevin Manley was sworn in as the re-elected representative of Jasper’s Sixth District Monday at Jasper City Hall. He was joined by his wife, Diane. Manley is serving his fourth term in the seat.
At the end of the ceremony, Mayor Dean Vonderheide presented Clerk/Treasurer Juanita Boehm a plaque commemorating her 24 years of service as the city’s clerk/treasurer. Boehm opted not to run for the office this year saying it was time for her to retire. Vonderheide commented he would have been lost in his first year as mayor without Boehm’s help.
Mayor Dean Vonderheide also presented Clerk/Treasurer Juanita Boehm with a key to the City of Jasper for her many years of service. Boehm commented that service to the community is important and commended the staff in her office for their work over the years.
Boehm received a standing ovation from the packed council chambers at Jasper City Hall after several members of the council thanked her for her service.
