Jasper police arrested two people in the death of a three-month-old infant.
According to the Dubois County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, a three-month-old was brought to Memorial Hospital emergency room on July 30, 2018. The infant was non-responsive. The infant was flown to Norton’s Children’s Hospital in Louisville and then on August 1, the infant was pronounced dead at about 7:54 p.m.
Police arrested the parents of the infant, Jordan R. Leinenbach, 28, and Cassandra Potts, 24, both of Jasper, on preliminary felony charges of neglect of a dependent resulting in death and reckless homicide.
The investigation is ongoing and further updates will be made available according to the prosecuting attorney’s office.
The prosecuting attorney added that criminal charges are an accusation and every defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
